Introduction

1919年2月，北京政府为制新国歌，成立了国歌研究会，公开征求词谱，经过讨论决定仍以卿云歌为歌词，删掉最后两句，由音乐家萧友梅配曲。1920年段祺瑞政府教育部征集国歌，北京大学音乐传习所的作曲家肖友梅将《尚书》中的《卿云歌》选作歌词并作曲，全歌仅四句16字，歌词是：卿云灿兮、糺缦缦兮。日月光华、旦复旦兮。日月光华、旦复旦兮。并由教育部下令于1921年7月在全国传唱。
