Introduction
《我的祖国》 是马来西亚的国歌，此歌曲采用霹雳州州歌的旋律，歌词内容承诺效忠国王和国家的安全。若此曲在独立日（国庆日）时演奏常于前奏有一阵短鼓声。
在马来亚联合邦快要独立时，11个州（当时为11个州，沙巴和砂拉越还没加入）个个都有自己的州歌，但当时联合邦的国歌为英国国歌《天佑女王》。为此，马来亚的第一任首相东姑阿都拉曼与当时的政府部门的高级官员组织了一个委员会，以选择一首适当的国歌。他的建议公布后，便展开了一个世界性的竞争。此赛一共有514人参赛，而且是来自世界各地，但皆被认为不合适，其中一位参赛者为英国作曲家本杰明·布里顿。
1957年8月5日，该委员会决定采用改编自印尼民谣《Terang Boelan》的霹雳州州歌的旋律，因为它具有传统南洋风味。最后，此歌曲于1957年在吉隆坡Depoh警察礼堂被正式宣布成为马来亚的国歌。
