Brahms Piano Concerto No.1 in D Minor Op. 15

勃拉姆斯创作《第1号钢琴协奏曲》与作曲家罗伯特·舒曼有着不解之缘。1853年9月，二人的首次相遇就让舒曼无比激动振奋，预言勃拉姆斯会成为贝多芬的接班人——后来事实证明，这个预言是对的。仅仅三年后，舒曼在莱茵河畔投水自尽未遂，被关进了精神病院郁郁而终。勃拉姆斯深受挚友身陷困厄的触动，开始创作一部双钢琴奏鸣曲，很快它又变成了一部交响曲；最后勃拉姆斯将二者融合，写就了一部钢琴协奏曲。最初的版本只有第一乐章保留到了最后，即一部长达 23 分钟的D 小调交响巨作，强烈而痛苦，浓郁的情绪裹挟着勃拉姆斯彼时内心的动荡。随后，他又加入了一段饱含深情的“柔板”乐章，后来他承认这是为舒曼的遗孀克拉拉而作的音乐肖像。最后一个乐章是炽热的“不过分的快板”，其主题向莫扎特同样哀伤的《D小调协奏曲 K.466》致敬。这部协奏曲一开始并未获得好评，据勃拉姆斯回忆，在1859年的首演中他担任钢琴独奏面对掌声被嘘声淹没的情景无力回天。但如今，人们都认为这部作品是这类音乐中的经典之作。
