秋天的收获景象，以及随之而来的狂欢盛宴，开启了维瓦尔第《四季》中的第三首小提琴协奏曲《秋》。在其他的季节里，大自然也许是主宰；但《秋》是关于人类的,那些消遣和乐趣，无疑是音乐的主旋律。
在“快板”沉重的节奏中，几乎可以听到靴子咔嗒作响的声音，小提琴似乎是在给舞蹈伴奏。随着酒意渐浓，独奏小提琴的演奏也越来越游离，一度有一种醉汉式的豪迈咆哮，随后又转为忧伤，最后则是开场舞蹈的简短再现。维瓦尔弟在慢板乐章的乐谱上写道：“酒鬼们都睡着了。”持续的弦乐在羽管键琴上方营造出梦幻般的静谧，展开的和弦则似乎在刻画呼吸。这既是音乐停顿的瞬间，也是狩猎前养精蓄锐的时刻。末乐章快速跑动的主题，带领我们直接进入了狩猎的状态，仿佛骏马和猎犬飞驰而过。在独奏的第一个乐段中，我们可以听到号角的呼唤和狩猎者尖锐的叫声。当看到被射中的猎物时，乐队一触即发的音量和跃跃欲试的动感，让音乐变得更加激动人心。来自弦乐组断断续续的半音，甚至生动地描绘出了猎物最终被捕获时筋骨断裂的声音。
